Dodson Family || Denver Family Photographer

Sometimes, weather gets in the way a bit of the "perfect" location. A little rain in Indiana is common and for this particular family session, the rain swallowed up some of my scouted locations. So we improvised! With a little space to roam in their backyard and greenery to add some interest, we pressed on with a session right in their backyard. Their little guy was on the verge of turning ONE, so it was the perfect time to document the Dodson family. Randi and Todd have been friends of mine for years and getting to see them as parents has been such a fun switch. The littlest member of the family was a trooper for family pictures. A little unsure at first, but Mom and Dad knew how to get a smile on his face! Thankful once again for the opportunity to document a milestone with this family!

Cooper's First Birthday || Denver Family Photographer

Two things I love: lifelong friends and birthday parties. A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to combine the two and capture a special first birthday party. Abby and I have known each other for quite literally, an entire life. We went through diapers, bowl cuts, the awkward years, summers at the lake, hours of swim practice, and on. So many fun memories! It has been such a joy watching Abby meet and fall in love with Matt and most recently starting a family. Lucky for me, they asked me to document their little one's first birthday! We celebrated with tacos and cake on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in May. The whole family was together, grandparents and all, so it was the perfect opportunity to capture the whole family and the celebration!

If you're interested in documenting a special celebration, go here and send me your info. Let's chat!

Ritter Family || Denver Lifestyle Photographer

As a Hoosier native, there is just something about those summer nights in Indiana. Corn fields for days, sunsets that light up the sky, lake days, and small town life. I have so many sweet memories of summers in Indiana and a lot of that has to do with the people. Recently, one of my dear, childhood friends invited me into her new home to capture her family enjoying life in their new town. How lucky am I that I get to capture a friend and her family on one of those Indiana summer nights? Pretty lucky I would say.

Lifestyle sessions are quickly becoming a favorite because I get the chance to document life. Life isn't just picture perfect moments. It is sometimes messy, a little bit chaotic, but full of love in the everyday activities. I love that I had the chance to capture the Ritter family doing some of the things they love... playing in the yard, Legos on the porch, and cooking dinner together. A little dose of the everyday. Here's a few of my favorites from our evening together!
